Beware of using the same vendor for storage and destruction. I recently 
experienced a nerve-racking situation when our vendor picked up records to 
be shelved but were mistakenly assigned to our shredding account. Thanks 
to discrepancies in the submitted paperwork (codes did not jibe with 
shredding codes) and our vendor's slowness to destroy, we were able to 
catch it and get the records assigned to our storage account.  All in all, 
it took a over 5 days filled with many phone calls and email 
correspondence, for the vendor to recognize the error and make amends. For 
this reason, I would advocate for separate storage and destruction 
vendors.
