Glen wrote " So what's the deal? Are there no younger people on the list?"

The earliest computer that I remember using was an Apple II, where Mavis Beacon taught me to type and my friends provided names for the ill-fated members of my Oregon Trail crew. But, my family didn't get anything illustrious enough to be called a computer until much later, when we received a hand-me-down with a 486 processor and a Windows 3.1 operating system. Before that, all of my school reports were typed on a Brother Word Processor (couldn't tell you what model).

I'll take this opportunity to introduce myself--I have been lurking on the list for a few months, and have found it incredibly useful (and entertaining). I am currently working in a one-woman shop as the Records Management Officer for a large state agency here in Texas. I have been in this position for just over two years and it was my first out of library school, so I am probably one of the "younger" people on the list. My interest in the list right now is mostly trying to stay current on RM trends that sometimes pass us by in the public sector. Thanks to everyone who takes the time to share such great information, and have a lovely weekend!

Best,

Jenny Singer, MSIS
