I seldom disagree with Ginny, in fact, we're typically in VIOLENT
AGREEMENT...

But the one thing I am not in agreement with about the comments here is WHO
is responsible for this recent rebranding of Records and Information
Management and WHY it was done.

"Sales Professionals" didn't do this... unless we're talking about
marketing people working for a certain association. All you needed to do
was follow the bouncing ball to see WHO was behind this. I think most of
us who have been around this profession long enough saw quickly who it was
that offered a certificate/certification for "professionals" in this newly
created sector... in fact, they did it before anyone clearly understood
what it was, because it was so ill-defined.

Most people KNOW what governance is, and many were even familiar with the
term 'data governance'... but when a decision was made to expand the
definition and broaden the scope to include EVERYTHING in the 'World of
Information" ??? There were no vendors behind that, there were only
marketing people seeking a new source of revenue for a rapidly failing
organization.

Happy Monday, everyone.
