The policy establishes clear guidelines for retention of records which
should address creation and collection, records maintenance and use and
record disposition of the university.

Mr Ernest Aryeetey, Vice-Chancellor of the University, who also inaugurated
the University Archives Centre, said the non-existence of records
management policy in the university since its inception in 1948 triggered
the need for the development of the policy.

He said the policy was endorsed by the University Council on December 5,
2013 to make it known to all sections for its effective implementation.
