Welcome to the first day of the last month of 2014! Hard to believe it was
THAT LONG ago that our IT brethren were unduly worrying about Y2K ! ;)

I'd like to pass along an opportunity to all here to participate in a "Call
for Papers" for a special edition of the UK RMJ, The Records Management
Journal. Information on the edition and submitting papers can be found
below:

Dear All

We are planning a themed issue for V25(3), 2015 of the RMJ. The theme
is "Justice
records across national boundaries: Considerations for records management..
It can about serendipitously after a conversation with a university
colleague, Derek Johnson, who is working on a European project exploring
the sharing of DNA data across some EU boundaries and information/records
related issues that not surprisingly had emerged. He was a UK Police
Officer for many years (
https://www.northumbria.ac.uk/about-us/our-staff/j/derek-johnson/) and I
thought his idea for this topic was an excellent opportunity for the RMJ to
publish an issue that explored RM from a non-records professional
perspective.

We’ve drafted a call for papers (below). I will send it to the UK RM
Listserv and past reviewers for the RMJ. Please can I ask you to edit this
email and circulate the call widely through your networks. Derek will be
circulating to his networks.

I hope you agree this is a good opportunity to widen our network of
contributors and readers.

Many thanks

 Julie
