Jesse said, "I made the exact same arguments when a certain Alaskan governor was found to have done the same, and the talking points issued that PaK referenced that talk about e.g. Colin Powell having done it doesn't excuse it. It's wrong if he did it, it's wrong if she did it, and as records management professionals I cannot imagine any other way for us to approach this."

Here, here, Jesse. I agree. Also, from what I've read Condoleezza Rice did not use a personal e-mail account, only her government one.

Yeah, again, I know lots of political slants/rants to this but to me the
FRA is the definitive thing here. Whether or not the Archivist of the U.S.
went and had lunch with the Secretary and explicitly laid out her
individual obligations or not, FRA has been a black-letter recordkeeping
requirement for 65 years. It shouldn't matter what party; what type of
email account, personal or official; and whether someone held her hand on a
day-to-day basis regarding records management or not.

I made the exact same arguments when a certain Alaskan governor was found
to have done the same, and the talking points issued that PaK referenced
that talk about e.g. Colin Powell having done it doesn't excuse it. It's
wrong if he did it, it's wrong if she did it, and as records management
professionals I cannot imagine any other way for us to approach this.
