It is not, and that is what I do.  If I am interested in an article, I will read it.  If not, I will delete it.  Those are words to live by.  There are a few things I don't talk about when I am at work.  Those include politics, religion, and sports.  As soon as you talk about any of those things, everyone has an opinion and things get heated very quickly.  Just imagine talking about two at the same time.  Whoa!  Anyway, the same applies on the listserv for me by taking what I want from an article, assimilating it into what I do if I can, and then discarding the rest.
