LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — As Hillary Clinton prepares to announce a new bid for
the White House, her husband’s presidential library here is spilling more
secrets about her top advisers’ efforts to burnish her image during the
eight years she spent as first lady.

Nearly 200,000 pages of Clinton’s staffers’ office files were made public
Wednesday by the National Archives. They reveal how her aides cooperated
behind the scenes with a private group trying to divert public attention
from a series of congressional and independent counsel investigations that
plagued her during her husband’s presidency.

"The problems of our economy have occurred not as an outgrowth of
laissez-faire, unbridled competition.
They have occurred under the guidance of federal agencies, and under the
umbrella of federal regulations."
Senator Ted Kennedy, in defending trucking deregulation in 1978.
