*BAY CITY, MI* -- Documents dating back to Bay County's earliest days
outlining hundreds of thousands of property transactions are currently
being zapped into the digital era.

Bay County Register of Deeds Brandon Krause is spending $90,000 from his
"automation fund" to digitize nearly 500 books packed with property records
in an effort to preserve the records and make accessing the historic
information easier.
