LITTLE ROCK — Under a newly instituted policy, emails in the state
treasurer’s office are required to be deleted every 30 days.

In an April 17 email, Gary Underwood, chief information officer for
Treasurer Dennis Milligan, advised employees of the office:

“Email communication for all personnel shall be retained for a period of 30
days and then deleted. This should be done on a regular and systematic
basis. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please direct them
to your immediate supervisor.”

"The problems of our economy have occurred not as an outgrowth of
laissez-faire, unbridled competition.
They have occurred under the guidance of federal agencies, and under the
umbrella of federal regulations."
Senator Ted Kennedy, in defending trucking deregulation in 1978.
