My organization recently went through a similar process and hired Huron Consulting. Huron provided information on best practices, completed a case law/regulation review for our industry as well as provided all citations, and suggested modifications to our Policy. The attorney and seasoned RIM professional were easy to work with, I highly recommend reaching out to:

Subject: Global Records Retention Policy Review

The e-mail below is from an external source. Please do not open attachments or click links from an unknown or suspicious origin.

Colleagues:

Happy Thursday from a shoveled out PA. I have been working on a global big bucket records retention policy for our US and all international operations. I have been working with local site counsel in each market to establish retention periods for all of their records that in turn bubbles up into a global policy. One of our goals for this quarter is to conduct a legal review of the policy before we adopt and roll it out. To that end, I know there are many consultancies that do this kind of work. Does anyone know of a law firm, preferably in the Philadelphia market or East Coast, that has a records management and retention schedule practice in house that can do this kind of review for us? I have a research tool and to the extent possible I have mapped citations to each of the schedules. But, my GC wants to conduct a formal review with outside counsel.

Please let me know your thoughts and I appreciate your help.

Thanks, Steve
