... if you think about it, records managers are mostly concerned with
managing unstructured information and data managers are managing structured
information, and together they are responsible for the totality of
information the organization manages. That is a lot of power.

So perhaps an alliance between records managers and data managers would
benefit both groups and go a long way toward gaining momentum for
Information Governance (IG) programs.

Data managers are eager to harvest the metadata attached to unstructured
information to be able to apply analytics, business intelligence and other
tools to gain insights. Data managers can teach records managers about these
types of methods and tools...
