I do not find in The Principles any requirement that the RIM function be placed under IT. Can you identify the section in The Principles that you believe sets forth that requirement?

  We want to use a model similar to the GARP however out ultimate goal is not to place RIM under the IT environment.  We see RIM as living under compliance and legal and really as a checks and balance mechanism and partner  to IT to ensure things are being done correctly in the compliance realm.  Have any of you done an analysis using something similar to GARP with the exclusion of the IG/IT person ruling over RIM?    Please let me know how you have accomplished this.  We in no way want to see our program moved for a myriad of reasons but want to partner with IT on initiatives.  I have been under both IT and legal/compliance in the past and for this organization the legal/ compliance route is the best fit.
