John,

You might want to try "At Your Fingertips! A Household Filing System That Works For You" by Denise Dale and Alexandra Bradley. It's a nice little reference for $20 from the ARMA Bookstore: http://www.arma.org/bookstore/productdetail2.cfm?ProductID=1163, and is geared for personal RM.

  Good luck.
  Earl

Subject: [RM] Law putting a greater burden of discovery on the defendant

I recently read a comment indicating that while the plaintiff or the
court

used to request specific records, the burden of knowing what records
were

relevant to a case has been shifted to the defendant. That is: if you
are

being sued, you may be required to determine what records might be
relevant

to the case and to produce any or all of them.

I failed to make a note of the related citations. Can anyone help me
to

identify the citation or comments. I think that I read them here on the

listserv, not more than a few weeks ago.

Thanks,

Brent D. Smith
