Jim,

We don't rely on backup tapes for retention of email messages as documents. We assign responsibility to the staff member to decide if the email should be retained as project documentation, and if so, to file it according to our file plan.

Good Morning all, my question for today: If you don't have
an automated email archiving solution (like the one offered by Symantec)
and you rely on backup tapes - how long do you retain the tapes? Or do
you require staff to print emails for retention?

Sr. Manager, Records and Information Management
