YOu can go to the NARA website for the electronic CFR Code of Federal Regulations
http://www.gpoaccess.gov/cfr/index.html
You can go to Findlaw. This page has links to all the states based on the type of issue you are researching. COmmon to most of us is Business and Commercial Law or Corporation Law or Labor Law for example. Click on one of those and you see all the states listed. Some of the states have good search engines others not so good.

Any good County Law library will have Paper-based sources or electronic tools you can use there for research and the Librarians may even assist you. There may be a fee if you are not part of the court/legal system. best of luck

I'm trying to expand my collection of resources for developing records
retentions. If anyone has any suggestions other than Skupsky's
RECORDKEEPING REQUIREMENTS please forward. Currently we can not purchase
electronic resources so please keep suggestions to paper publications or
free Web Sites. FYI, I am located in New York City.
Thank you.
