I have been a Records Manager Consultant for about 12 years at a fortune
100 company but have never taken the CRM exam. Why you might ask, I don't
like the exam. I think it is very antiquated and many of the topics are
not relevant to what I do. Within the past 1.5 years I have focused 100%
of my job towards electronic records managment. I am currently taking the
ERM courses through AIIM and plan to get certified. As I review the job
postings for Records Managers one of the prerequisits is always a CRM
certification. Now that electronic records management software is
available to the Records Manager and Sarbanes Oxley is forcing companies to
properly managing their records, which certification do you think will be
the better choice?
