Mahalo for all those who've asked about our islands and ARMA members
here...
As of this morning, I'm happy to report that there were no fatalities
and damage was limited to the Big Island, where there were some road
damage, etc.
We were lucky...Depending on who you ask, we had between a 6.2 - 6.6
magnitude quake centered off of the Big Island. Most of us woke to the
minute long shake at 7:00 am and had to bear being without electricity
all day. As usual, people rushed to stores for emergency supplies and
everyone was cooking outdoors.
Flights out of the island were postphoned and there is probably a
backlog of flights going out...
This is the second quake in a couple of months, so we're starting to
wonder what bodes for the future. Hopefully, I'll be on the plane to
San Antonio on Wednesday night. Take care!
