I'd add the systematic destruction of archives in the former Yugoslavia
where Serbs, Bosnians, and Croats deliberately destroyed records to
eradicate their enemies (each other) from history.
But the loss of the Library at Alexandria is probably the greatest
records disaster in recorded human history.
