However, given the relationship of this issue, and similar issues in the past and not-so-distant past -- to our professional work as records and information managers, and archivists, I can't see how we can simply ignore this issue. It has profound meaning to our work.

This list did discuss at length the Berger incident when it happened, as
a search on the list archives will show.
But the Cheney issue is current, so we are discussing Cheney. But we can
compare/contrast it with Berger if you want.
So maybe you think one guy was "in the rights" and the other guy was
evil, depending on you politics. Rufus Miles (whoever he was) said
"Where you stand depends on where you sit." Me, I stand with keeping
this list apolitical.
