Hi, Diane,
The department of record's manager has to sign that there is no business
need that came up that requires each box to be kept before records
destruction of records here at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. It is also
the manager's duty to make sure that there is a Legal hold, or Tax or
Customs hold that Records Management doesn't know about. And if the
records are on the list, Records Management does not know about the hold.
It is the manager's further duty to inform Records Management of the hold
on the records destruction approval form, so we can put it in the database.

UNLESS there is or has been a hold or the record series requires Legal
approval, or Tax or Customs. THEN signature approval of the manager of the
department with the hold or approval requirement must be obtained, in
addition to that of the manager of the department of record. The form has
space to indicate that there is a hold and the "Hold Until" date.
