Freeport-McMoRan Copper and Gold Inc. is searching for a Records Analyst
to work out of our head office in downtown Phoenix, Arizona.  The job
description appears below.

Area of Focus / Responsibilities:

 

Responsible for the implementation of the corporate records retention
schedule at corporate and remote site locations to establish and
maintain compliance with the company's records management program.
Specific responsibilities include:

 

* Assist the Corporate Records Manager in the development and
implementation of an initial launch plan for the records retention
schedule, including plans for training and communication.  Identify
continuing training and communication opportunities.

 

* Provide initial and ongoing training and guidance to corporate and
site location personnel, including assistance with records inventories,
file plans, storage, and destruction.

 

* Facilitate the rollout of records management software to corporate and
remote sites, including training and monitoring of users to ensure
complete and accurate meta-data capture and records classification.

 

* Identify requirements for modification to the records retention
schedule based on assessment of site records.

 

* Perform ongoing site-level audits to ensure compliance with the
corporate Records Retention Schedule and Records Retention Policy.

 

* Provide support for litigation, financial audits, historical, or other
research projects for internal and external customers.

 

 

Requirements:

 

* Associates degree

 

* Three (3) or more years experience in records management, or an
equivalent combination of education and experience

 

* Excellent written and oral communication skills

 

* Ability to travel - possibly extensively -- to subsidiary locations

 

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook

 

* Ability to work with general office equipment such as a personal
computer and keyboard, facsimile machines, and photocopier

 

* Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and
safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and
recognizing hazards

 

 

Preferred:

 

* Project management experience

 

* Records management consulting experience

 

* CRM (Certified Records Manager Designation)

 

* Hands-on experience with TRIM Context by Tower Software
