I suppose that I'm thankful that a membership to ARMA wasn't described
in this manner.

But sooner or later, most of us will be faced with justifying a
professional membership. It's bad enough when justified within your
organization; much harder when it is all over a newspaper. Are you
prepared to respond to this sort of viewpoint if your professional
membership was challenged?
