I'm placing this for a colleague. Please respond on-list or to me directly. Thank you.

How have organizations gone about implementing triggers in automated systems to start the clock ticking on records governed by rules-based retention. 

My colleague is particularly interested in knowing how others are implementing the rules in Hummingbird DM v. 5 - though comments relating to other applications are welcome.
