I recall when I saw a job posting requiring the CRM certification for
the first time back in the late 1980s and believe it was a milestone of
sorts. When the CRM began appearing on government contracts I knew that
the CRM was growing in importance. Other certifications grew over time
such as the CDIA+ and are now regularly seen in job postings. Even the
CA (Certified Archivist) is showing up on job postings in the archival
field with increasing frequency.
Today I read a job posting requesting AIIM's ERM certificate. While not
required, it states CRM and/or ERM or advanced progress toward
certification preferred. This is the first one I have seen. I am
wondering what the acceptance level is of AIIM's training? Has anyone
else seen ERM/ECM in job postings?
