The NASA Center for AeroSpace Information (CASI), operated by Chugach Industries, Inc., is the primary operational facility for the Agency’s Scientific & Technical Information Program. Since the early 1960’s CASI’s mission has been to collect, organize, disseminate, and preserve both NASA and worldwide literature in the space sciences and aerospace engineering. CASI maintains a database of over 4 million records and provides digital information products and services to NASA, the broader aerospace community, and the general public. The CASI facility is located just south of Baltimore in Hanover , Maryland . (Further information regarding CASI and the NASA STI Program is available at http://www.sti.nasa.gov.)  Chugach is currently seeking a Records Management Technician to assist in our operation.

 SUMMARY/GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:  
Maintains the CASI hard copy collection.  Files documents.  Pulls documents to fulfill scan-on-demand, document orders and legacy scanning functions.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & JOB FUNCTIONS:  
·          Develop and maintain shelving schemas for the case file collections
·          Organize the collection to ensure that NASA and non-NASA STI case files are maintained separately 
·          Verifies the transfer of data from the Livelink production system to the National Aeronautics and Space database
·          File processed case files into the collection, reviewing the Document Availability Authorization (DAA) Form (NASA Form 1676) and document markings to ensure the case file has been placed in limited distribution folders  
·          Pull case files and stock needed to fill document orders and scan-on-demand requirements
·          Conducts on-going inventory of the collection
·          Maintains the stock copy collection to ensure that sufficient stock is available to respond quickly to document orders
 
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, & Professional Association):
Mandatory –
·          HS degree 
·          Two years of general office experience 
 
Preferred – 
·          Work experience with PCs 
·          Two years of records management experience preferably in a records center
