During FY 2008, NARA's Northeast Region will be offering the complete
series of courses necessary to complete NARA's Certification of Federal
Records Management Training. We will be offering this comprehensive
records management curriculum sequentially, first in Boston and then,
later in the year, in New York. The curriculum is designed for employees
and contractors of the U.S. Federal Government who handle records or
manage information. It will also be of interest to program managers,
legal counsel, IT staff, as well as state and local government
officials.
The first class in the series is Creating and Maintaining Agency
Business Information (Knowledge Area 2). KA2 will be offered
Tuesday-Wednesday, November 6-7 at the JFK Federal Building in Boston.
This course focuses on the development and implementation of polices
and procedures for adequate and proper documentation of agency business.
It demonstrates how record- keeping requirements for creating and
maintaining records can improve the economy and efficiency of agency
operations.
Who should attend?
Anyone involved with the development or implementation of a records
system, whether using traditional paper filing methods or electronic
document/records management applications. The course is recommended as a
prerequisite for KA 3 and KA 4.
This will be the only time KA2 is offered in the Boston area this year.
In order to receive certification in Federal records management skills
and practices you will need to successfully complete all 5 of the
certification courses. Get started with KA2 in November!
For more information, you can contact us on our training hotline at
(781) 663-0148 or by email: [log in to unmask] You can register for the
course anytime online: https://nara.learn.com.
