Office of Origin:
The department or other organizational unit that creates or originally
receives a record
Office of Record:
An office designated to maintain the record or official copy of a particular
record in an organization
Record:
Recorded information, regardless of medium or characteristics, made or
received by an organization in pursuance of legal obligations or in the
transaction of business
Record Copy:
The original or official copy of a record that is retained for legal,
operational, or historic purposes
