Subject:  2nd Annual Records Management Seminar "Beyond Compliance to
Organizational Effectiveness" October 23rd 

The LA AIIM Chapter is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Records
Management Seminar to be held on October 23, 2007.  Last year's event
drew over 140 attendees and we've expanded our outreach efforts this
year.  This year's event, "Records Management: Beyond Compliance to
Organizational Effectiveness" is a one day End User Forum.  The program
will provide attendees with valuable information and resources to assist
in moving forward with their RIM and ECM initiatives. 

Highlights include: 

1.  Renee Finch, the Local Government Records Coordinator with the
California Secretary of State will provide an introduction and overview
of the State's RM program.   

2.  Jon Fullinwider, LA County CIO will provide the Welcome and
Introduction to the Program 

3.  John Isaza, President of GLA ARMA, will deliver a presentation on
"The Digital Haystack".  For those in the  audience concerned about
"what you don't know about what you don't know", this presentation is a
must see.   

4.  The afternoon keynote will feature Adam Cohen, Senior Managing
Director at FTI Consulting.  Mr. Cohen is co-author of  Electronic
Discovery:  Law and Practice (Aspen Publishers), which has been cited as
authority in several landmark electronic discovery opinions by Federal
Courts.   

5.  Sponsors include Global360, CA, Brother International, Accutrac
(Iron Mountain), Digital Documents, and FTI Consulting.   All Sponsors
are listed on the event website.   

This seminar will provide you with the up to date key information
relating to Records and Information Management.  The sessions will
provide valuable insight into how organizations are implementing and
moving forward with their initiatives and will focus on the following
aspects of RIM : 

- Legal 

- Program/Policy 

- Technology 

The Seminar is cosponsored by GLA ARMA and pre-certified for ICRM
maintenance credits.   

The Seminar is being held at the Cerritos Sheraton and the fee to attend
is $75.  Government employees are eligible for the discounted fee of
