Houston flooding also "took out" the Law Library at the Law School,
eventually resulting in a drop in the standing that University of
Houston's Law School had among its peers.  With perhaps more devastating
impact, the Houston Police Dept. Crime lab flooded - with the loss of
evidence in active cases (as I recall), and a "cross contamination
issue" essentially given as a gift to defense attorneys...... and,
finally, a number of closed court case records from Harris County either
damaged or destroyed in that flooding....
