The meaning of big buckets in the "Big Bucket Theory" is often in the
eye of the beholder.  Storage network vendors often think of big buckets
as being no more than 5 buckets for an entire enterprise.  I cannot
imagine a large firm, especially one in a highly regulated
environment....where regulatory requirements can be quite granular....
attempting to implement a retention schedule...with only 5 records
series.

John Isaza spoke to a group in L.A. yesterday, and pointed out that
while consolidation of records series can often make good sense, that
there's a big difference between what R.I.M. managers would see as a
reasonable number of "big buckets".....and what Storage Network vendors
are pushing as a solution that meets their "needs"...
