Folks,
 
The IT department of my government client agreed to backup the email of departing officials to DLT tape before deleting their accounts.  Big win for the IM department.  Now the IM department wants to make sure that the tapes are useable for future searches, etc.  They want to know what questions or guidance they should provide to the IT folks.  Any leads to best management practices in this area would be appreciated.
