There is a rule of thumb out there somewhere, that most thefts and
security breaches in organizations tend to be inside jobs. I guess our
archival colleagues are not immune.

The "quote" (actually a paraphase) is from written statements released
by the New York Attorney General's office. They appear to be attempts
to justify the crime. According to the article, the individual claimed
to have taken 300 to 400 items in 2007 alone and accelerated his thefts
when cameras were going to be installed.

Looks like there will be a ton of replevin suits filed.
