Given the recent thread involving public access, this column in today's
Oregonian by columnist Steve Duin seems timely. As background, Phil
Knight of Nike fame is offering a donation of $100 million to the
University of Oregon to build a new basketball arena, if the state
promises to provide an additional $200 million. This story involves a
less than rosy economic projection that the columnist alleges was buried
in the process. It touches on many of the issues we just discussed:
