David, in the US, ANSI/AIIM MS44 "Recommended Practice for Quality Control of Image Scanners" applies to the scanning of office documents for commercial purposes.
See also the associated Technical Reports ANSI/AIIM TR34 and ANSI/AIIM TR38.
The US National Archives and Records Administration also has guidelines for the scanning of office documents.
AIIM also publishes a variety of books on such subjects as scanning workflow, procedures, and the like.
Best regards

Subject: [RM] Scanning Standards
Would anyone be able to recommend any standards for electronic scanning of documents? I am particularly interested in Canadian & US standards, but international ones are ok too.
Thanks,
Dave
