Laura,

The lifespan would depend on the pH of the paper. As per NISO standards
paper marked "Acid- Free" must have a pH of 7 or greater. If you don't
know the pH of the paper, you can look for markers that will help you
detect it. (But don't be surprised if your paper has acid; recycled papers
tend to have acid, and therefore has a shorter lifespan.)

Cheers,

Melissa

Subject
Archival qualities of recycled copier paper?

Does anyone know if recycled copier paper would have a lesser shelf life
than nonrecycled copier paper, when archived under normal conditions? I've
googled and checked the listserv archives, but can't find any comparisons
of this.

Thank you,
