You can also attend the vendor Expo for free at the ARMA Conference 
(normally a $75 value) if you register on-line or on-site.  This would be 
your best opportunity to answer your original question regarding what 
software products are out there that may serve your purpose other than 
your current Access and spreadsheets.  There are vendors that offer very 
simple RIM solutions at reasonable costs that may be just what you are 
looking for.  Granted you would have to foot the bill for the airfare and 
accommodations, but if you are in it for the long haul, it just might be 
worth the costs.  For years now I have paid my own membership in ARMA and 
it has been well worth it.
