Diana,

I've coordinated records center moves for several Ernst & Young offices while I worked there a couple of years ago, and would love to share my experiences with you. Since it's been awhile I'll check to see if I still have the workplan we used which covered resources, instructions to staff, users, & movers, timetables, etc.

I'll look for that stuff this evening, but please contact me off-list and I'll be glad to share my experiences. We did lessons-learned sessions after each move and I hope I can find that documentation as it might be helpful to you.

Thanks.
Earl

Subject: Move instructions

Colleagues,

As the time nears for our move later this year, we're trying to compile
language to include in our contract with the movers. The boiler plate
language will be taken care of, but the instructions specifically pertaining
to the do's and don'ts of a records center/archives move is what I'm
seeking. If you would like to share instructions you've used for a move,
or instructions you *wished* you would have given for a move, I would
greatly appreciate gaining from your experience.

Thanks!

Diana
