Session Two: Dos and Don'ts of ERM ECM & Email Archive Case Study

Speakers
Dave McDermott, CRM-Simplot
Tim Hughes, CRM-Madison Gas and Electric

Real-life stories of how two companies, a mid-size publicly-owned
Midwestern utility and a multinational, family-owned conglomerate, have
dealt with, and struggled with, the real challenge of dealing with
Electronic Stored Information. Come and hear how Simplot had to face the
realities of the new changes in the FRCP and how Madison Gas and Electric
(MGE) started on its journey toward an enterprise-wide solution and then
how and why it stalled.

The J. R. Simplot Company embarked on a multiphase electronic content and
retention management (ECRM) project over three years ago. To date the
Simplot Company has implemented an email archive and is preparing for the
next major phase of the project.

How was the implementation planned?
Who kept management and employees engaged?
What kept this project moving forward?

Learn the trials and tribulations the Simplot Company went through to move
the ECRM project from concept to successful implementation. In addition
the next phases of ERM will be discussed.

Madison Gas & Electric (MGE) had decided several years ago to move forward
in managing electronic information. They even purchased an ECM software
package. To date no solution has been implemented.

· What went wrong?
· What were the lessons learned?
· How will this project move forward?

The history of this project, its successes and failures, and the latest
steps taken to move the project forward will be shared. In addition, the
struggle with changing the department-based retention schedules to a
functional schedule in preparation for their ECM program will be covered.

Dos and Don’ts of ERM will be an interactive program that will provide you
with points to consider when planning an ECM program.

Anyone contemplating initiating and ECM implantation, or are in the middle
of the project will benefit from this session.

This is not a vendor presentation!Hear first hand horror stories and
accomplishments that were experienced in real life implementation.

Our speakers will share their experiences with us and they promise this is
going to be a great ride!
