The Legal and RIM Challenges Posed by Social Networking

Program:  During this presentation, we will discuss popular social networking tools (FaceBook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.) and their legal and RIM implications.  Ms. Ayiotis will describe how policy can help address risk by providing concrete guidance around usage.  Several examples from major multinational organizations will be presented including the security challenges presented during the full lifecycle management of information outside the physical possession, custody and control of the organization.. Finally, we will explore the issues in-house counsel must contend with when they need to preserve and/or collect such electronically stored information for an investigation or litigation. 
  
Speaker: Christina Ayiotis is Group Counsel—E-Discovery & Data Privacy, at CSC, a 92,000 person leading global consulting, systems integration and outsourcing company.  She is also Adjunct Professor in the Department of Computer Science at George Washington University where she teaches Information Policy as part of their Master’s Program in Computer Security and Information Assurance.  Prior to joining CSC, she led Booz Allen Hamilton’s Integrated Records and Information Management Program.  She has visited 30 countries and has more than 20 years experience in the professional services field, having also worked in global knowledge management for Ernst & Young International and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. 
  
Menu:  Please choose one entrée when you make your reservation: Grilled Chicken Alfredo; Fish and Chips; BBQ Meatloaf; Chicken Paillard; Gourmet Burgers; California Market Salad. Also included are house salad, Ultimate Chocolate Cake, soft drinks, coffee and ice tea.  Cash bar will be available.
