Chris, you are absolutely right about people learning better when they are having fun. The video game makers have this down to a science...think about the progressive levels and how the player learns each level. You can't move on until you complete one level, but when you fail, it's not a great penalty...you start again at the highest level you have achieved. Learning becomes addictive.
I was thinking of the need to teach basic RIM concepts at my current engagement, and, like you, I hoped to put some humor into it to aid learning. I don't know if we'll use it, but in my spare time I threw together a little sketch with which to introduce a training meeting.
