Steve -

Thanks for recommending of us as a SharePoint RM information source. We deployed an enterprise records management solution based on MOSS for Marathon Oil. Here is the Microsoft link to our recent case study:

http://www.microsoft.com/casestudies/Case_Study_Detail.aspx?casestudyid=4000006591

We have tried to address the shortcomings of the Microsoft DoD 5015 Solution Pack for MOSS 2007 and have incorporated these into a SharePoint Enterprise Framework. This is also the result of learning from our work at Marathon Oil. Here is the link:

Based on our requirements and design work for the Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Product Team, we are building an application to submit to JITC for DoD 5015 certification (Chapters 2 & 5) for SharePoint 2010 this summer. Here is the link:

We write the "On the Record with SharePoint" columns for AIIM that have dealt with many of these questions. Here is the link for several columns: http://www.aiim.org/sharepoint/

One of our senior guys, Don Lueders, writes a fine blog on SharePoint RM. There is much discussion of SharePoint RM on his site, including a dialogue with the Microsoft product managers. Here is the link: http://sharepointrecordsmanagement.com/

Call or email if we can provide more information.

Thanks,

Nolene, you might want to check with the Gimmal Group on the current
capabilities of sharepoint. Perhaps ask for a personal demo of records
center indexing, checkin, checkout, tracking, applying retention policy to &
automated destruction notices for stored boxes, etc. features.

I hate paper..., but I love information management. I like seeing the
progress our profession is making on managing information electronic from
cradle to grave.

Best regards, Steve
