as would any sane records manager, although I  think you are presenting an
extreme example. If, I were the records manager of such an organization I
would question the need to destroy a 2TB drive to get rid of a single
records serious. what would be the driver requiring actual physical
destruction. is there an alternative that can do what we're trying to
achieve with physical destruction. That said I have seen too many stories
over the years where data has been pulled from salvaged hard drives.

As records managers become more and more involved with the implementation of
ERMS, they need to reexamine their organization's policies and procedures in
light of the ERMS' capabilities and limitations. In many cases what worked
well in the physical realm may not work at all in digital realm.
