Urg.  I so loathe that song.  It taunted me all through my high school
years. ;)

At any rate, the content of my post was directed primarily at the OP -
trying to pass along third hand information based on very fuzzy parameters
is never a good idea.

It's commendable the CEO is trying to find information for his daughter;
based on the numerous intricacies of "archival" work, we could be
recommending or suggesting all the wrong information for what the young lady
actually wants.  The skills she would need for a document archivist, for
example, may differ wildly from those of an "ice archivist."

For that matter, the best advice, in my opinion, would be to point her to an
email list serv like this one so she can ask questions and we don't have to
guess at hypotheticals like background, interest and so on.

Of course, that said, I've found the discussion fascinating for myself.
