Many years ago, I located inactive records that were sent to storage
with the destruction date shown as 99/99/9999.  Now we know that there
isn't a 99 month or a 99 day of the month, but there COULD be a year
9999, maybe!

And while none of us will be here in a few more centuries, unless we are
cloned or frozen, having records with that destruction date probably
won't matter for those in charge of the records.

What really makes better sense, IMHO, is that the field in question show
perhaps 100 years.  Budgets and minutes ARE permanent, but at what
length do we (records managers) go to cover the content of our records?
So many questions, so few big bucket answers.

Just a thought on a very cloudy and blustery day!

For those in the central Florida area, y'all be extra careful...this
incoming storm is liable to kick some buttockus!  Plan ahead, like the
wonderful RIM professionals you are!
