That's a very interesting make-or-break clause. As Glenn says, if it's a large
customer then do what you have to do. But I'm a little curious why they
want retention of your internal documents - usually the end product speaks
for itself. Do they have an expectation of seeing those documents at some
point in the future? Would they even be entitled to see those documents,
whether or not they're private or privileged information? I'm curious what their
thinking is on it. Perhaps it's a strategy for future legal disputes should any
issues arise.
Or maybe they have an overzealous Records Manager, wanting to spread the
love of retention around the world.
