Laurie,

At the time I took the exam, since I didn't have a Bachelor's degree at the time, I needed something like 11 years (not sure of exact # but it was a lot) of experience before I could sit for the exams. Luckily I saved every job description and performance evaluation and was easily able to document my professional experience.

Well said!

I also feel it devalues our credential.

I remember when I became qualified to take the exams (back in the dark ages), the requirement was a baccalaureate degree and three years of full time or equivalent experience in records management in three or more categories.  Even though I had a master's degree, I still had to work three years.

I wonder if this decision was based on financial considerations for the Institute.
