We initially ran into this with our ECM.  The default was to capture all
metadata within the system....which was really overkill.  As a result,
the audit function accounted for over 35% of memory.  Opening the audit
trail took considerable time. Once we clearly defined our metadata
requirements, the audit function became more manageable.
