I find this decision--as described on the ellblog.com Web site--perplexing.
The ellblog.com article refers to "converting electronic data into a more-user friendly and searchable .TIFF format". However, *.TIFF is a RASTER IMAGE format and, as such, it's NOT directly machine-searchable (you would have to create an index and/or process the *.TIFF images through a character recognition engine to obtain character code that IS machine-searchable).
Has anyone followed this case more closely? Jardin v. DATAllegro, Inc., 2011 WL 4835742 (S.D. Cal. Oct. 12, 2011), again according to the ellblog.com article.
