I followed the thread on this topic beginning Saturday evening including
the initial post from Ralph Better (if that;s your real name). I will make
this short and sweet. I served as an SME (records management) for AIIM in
the development of the CIP exam questions. After spending a week in
Baltimore with AIIM staff and SME's from a variety of fields, I can state
that in addition to developing records management exam questions, I was
truly schooled and came away as a better educated RIM professional. Some
records and information managers may work for organizations were the CIP
will serve them no purpose, but I think this comprises the minority of
organizations. The topics covered in the CIP exam are relevant to
me. Additionally my company fully endorsed and encouraged my participation
as an SME.

Sincerely

Blake E. Richardson, CIP, CRM
